The Thursday MLB schedule will get underway with a matinee between the Chicago White Sox and the Minnesota Twins from Target Field. The White Sox (76-79) are in the midst of an eight-game losing streak and have been one of the biggest disappointments in baseball this season. Last night, Chicago SP Johnny Cueto (7-10) was tagged for six runs in five plus innings during an 8-4 road loss against Chicago.

Twenty-eight year old righty Lucas Giolito (10-9 5.05 ERA) has gone through an up-and-down season for the White Sox. In his last start, Giolito gave up three runs in six innings during a 5-3 home loss versus Detroit.

The Minnesota Twins have lost seven of their previous 11 games and were unable to maintain their torrid start to the year. On Wednesday, OF Jake Cave collected three hits and scored twice to spark the Minnesota offense. OF Matt Wallner contributed two hits and drove in three runs for the Twins, who improved to 76-79 overall.

Rookie right-hander Louie Varland (0-2 5.06 ERA) will make his fourth career major league start for the Twins. Through 16 innings of work, Varland has struck out 13 batters and owns a 1,44 WHIP.

Chicago 3B Yoan Moncada (foot) was held out of Wednesday’s lineup and is listed as day-to-day. Through 155 games, Chicago ranks 14th in OPS and 17th in runs scored. For the season, Minnesota ranks 11th in OPS and 18th in runs scored. Take the under. Final Score Prediction, Chicago White Sox win 3-2.
