Chicago White Sox at Detroit Tigers 9/21/21 - MLB Picks & Predictions

The Tuesday MLB schedule will get underway with a matinee between the Chicago White Sox and the Detroit Tigers from Comerica Park. The White Sox (85-65) have split their previous ten games and are on the verge of wrapping up the division title. On Monday, Chicago went 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base during a 4-3 road loss.

2015 AL Cy Young Award winner Dallas Keuchel (8-9 5.23 ERA) will take the mound for the White Sox. Chicago has lost Keuchel’s last three starts and he has given up 12 runs over his last 14 plus frames.

The Detroit Tigers have reeled off three straight victories and are much improved for first year manager A.J. Hinch. During yesterday’s home victory, SS Harold Castro drove in the winning run with an eighth inning single that scored Robbie Grossman. Jonathan Schoop doubled and drove in a run for the Tigers (73-78).

The Tigers will give the nod to twenty-seven year old southpaw Tyler Alexander (2-3 4.13 ERA) on Tuesday. In his last start, Alexander allowed four runs (3 ER) in five plus innings during a 5-2 road loss against Tampa Bay.

Detroit closer Gregory Soto has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a fractured left ring finger. Through 150 games, Chicago ranks 5th in OPS and 6th in runs scored. For the season, Detroit ranks 23rd in OPS and 19th in runs scored. Take the Tigers to win at home. Final Score Prediction, Detroit Tigers win 6-4.
