Chicago Cubs at Miami Marlins 9/21/22 - MLB Picks & Predictions

In Wednesday night MLB action, the Chicago Cubs will take on the Miami Marlins from loanDepot Park. The Cubs (63-85) have split their previous ten games and have been eliminated postseason contention. Last night, 3B David Bote tied the game with a solo blast and came through with a sacrifice fly to lift Chicago to a 2-1 road victory against Miami.

Thirty-one year old righty Marcus Stroman (4-7 3.76 ERA) will head to the hill for the Cubs in this contest. In his last start, Stroman allowed one run in seven innings during a 2-1 home victory versus Colorado.

The Miami Marlins have dropped 44 of their 74 home games and must improve their offense in the offseason. On Tuesday, Miami batters went 1-for-8 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base. SP Pablo Lopez gave up one run in six plus innings and did not factor in the decision for the Marlins, who fell to 61-88 on the season. 

The Marlins will give the nod to talented left-hander Jesus Luzardo (3-7 3.75 ERA) on Wednesday. Through 81 plus frames, Luzardo has struck out 91 batters and owns a stellar 1.09 WHIP.
