The Chicago Cubs will continue their final road trip of the season Wednesday afternoon as they play the final game of the year in Cincinnati against the Cincinnati Reds. Chicago is 14 games below .500 this year after a 3-1 lost in the first game of this series ended a lengthy winning streak. Hayden Weneski took the loss for Chicago after giving up two runs on four hits across six innings of work. The Chicago bullpen struggled as well allowing two more runs on one hit over the final two innings of the game.

Nico Hoerner has been the top bat in the Chicago lineup this year with a .280 batting average to go along with a .324 OBP. Ian Happ leads Chicago this season with 155 hits and 72 RBIs, while Patrick Wisdom supplies the power leading the team with 25 home runs.

The Cincinnati Reds come into the final game of the season 38 games under .500 after the win in game one of this series.
