The St. Louis Cardinals are taking to the road to face the Chicago Cubs in what could be a pivotal game in the NL Central race. The Cardinals on the road this year are only playing at the 500 mark. The Cubs are playing at home are actually playing very well as they are 23 games over the 500 mark this season.

The Cardinals homer leader on the year is Paul Goldschmidt with 31 on the year and he has brought home 89 runners this season. Kolten Wong has managed to hit the clip of .285 for the Cardinals. Kyle Schwarber is the power man for the Cubs with 37 homers. Anthony Rizzo  is back from injury and has managed to hit at a clip of .290 with 94 runners brought home.

The starting pitcher for the Cardinals is Miles Mikolas he has managed to post a 9-14 14 record with a 4.29 ERA. He has thrown 176.1 innings with 140 strikeouts 31 walks and 185 hits allowed.

Yu Darvish is the starting pitcher for the Cubs and he is not doing that well as he has a 6-7 record and a 4.02 ERA. He has managed  too throw 170.1 innings and struck out 217 batters, he has walked 56 batters though and allowed 133 hits.

The Cubs are coming into this game with the chance to ruin the Cardinals plans of the playoffs. However, the Cardinals are coming to this game in a game and really have to press hard to make the playoffs as the National League Central division champion. Look for the Cardinals to actually come into the game and push hard, but they do fall short as the pitching of Darvish is able to sit down quite a few of the Cardinal batters who are a slightly below average offensive team compared to most. Final Score Prediction, Chicago cubs win 6-4.
