Ryan Braun went deep twice for the Brewers, who moved to within a game of Chicago for the division lead.

The St. Louis Cardinals have been eliminated from the NL Central Division title race, but are still in a dog fight for a wild card spot. On Tuesday, St. Louis committed three errors and the pitching staff was rocked for 15 hits. Yadier Molina blasted a three-run homer in a losing effort for the Cardinals, who fell a half-game behind Colorado for the final NL Wild Card spot.

The Cardinals will turn to twenty-six year old righty John Gant (7-6 3.53 ERA) on Wednesday. Through 109 plus innings, Gant has struck out 93 batters and sports a respectable 1.29 WHIP.

St. Louis OF Dexter Fowler (foot) has been transferred to the 60-day disabled list. Through 158 games, Milwaukee ranks 13th in batting average and 13th in runs scored. For the season, St. Louis ranks 14th in batting average and 7th in runs scored. Take the Cardinals to salvage the final game of this series at home.
