NL East Division rivals will clash in the nation’s capital, when the Atlanta Braves and Washington Nationals continue their weekend series. Last night, SP Mike Soroka allowed one hit over six innings to pitch Atlanta to a 5-0 road victory. Ozzie Albies homered as part of a three-hit night for the Braves, who lead the division by 9.5 games.

Hard-throwing righty Mike Foltynewicz (6-5 5.00 ERA) will head to the hill for the Braves in this contest. Atlanta has won each of Foltynewicz’s last ten starts and he has allowed just six runs over his last 27 plus innings.

The Washington Nationals have won 41 of their 71 home games and sit atop the NL Wild Card standings. On Friday, Washington SP Max Scherzer gave up three runs in five innings and fell to 10-6 on the year. The Nationals struck out six times and managed just three hits in defeat.

Twenty-seven year old righty Austin Voth (1-1 4.00 ERA) will make his sixth start for the Nationals. Through 27 innings, Voth has struck out 30 batters and owns a solid 1.19 WHIP.

Atlanta OF Ender Inciarte (hamstring) is not expected back until the end of the month. Through 149 games, Atlanta ranks 6th in OPS and 6th in runs scored. For the season, Washington ranks 7th in OPS and 7th in runs scored. Take the Nationals to even this series with a home victory. Final Score Prediction, Washington Nationals win 6-3.
