Tampa Bay is 82-48 following a 12-8 victory over the Baltimore Orioles on Sunday. Joey Wendle hit two home runs in the victory including a grand slam while driving in six runs. Tampa Bay swept Baltimore in the three-game series and the Rays have won seven straight. Tampa Bay is first in the American League East with a six-game lead over the second-place New York Yankees.
Randy Arozarena is batting .274 to lead Tampa Bay and the left fielder has a team-high 119 hits. Second baseman Brandon Lowe is the leader in home runs with 30 and designated hitter Austin Meadows is the leader in RBIs with 91. The Tampa Bay Rays have not yet announced their starting pitcher for the second game of their series at home against the Boston Red Sox.
