Progressive Field will play host to a Sunday afternoon MLB clash between the Boston Red Sox and the Cleveland Guardians. The Red Sox (41-31) are riding a six-game winning streak and have surged into second place in the AL East Division standings. Last night, OF Alex Verdugo's three-run blast in the sixth inning lifted Boston to a 4-2 road victory against Cleveland.

Forty-two year old southpaw Rich Hill (3-4 4.35 ERA) will head to the hill for the Red Sox in this contest. Last time out, Hill allowed three runs across five frames during a 5-4 home victory versus Detroit.

The Cleveland Guardians are four games above .500 at home and trail Minnesota by a half-game for first place in the AL Central Division. During yesterday's home loss, Cleveland went 0-for-6 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base. SS Amed Rosario tripled and scored a run for the Guardians, who fell to 36-31 on the year.

Twenty-seven year old righty Aaron Civale (2-3 7.25 ERA) will look to get on track for the Guardians. In his last start, Civale gave up two runs in five innings during a 6-5 road victory against Minnesota.

Boston SP Nathan Eovaldi (back) was expected to play catch this weekend and is hopeful to return next month. Through 72 games, Boston ranks 5th in OPS and 9th in runs scored. For the season, Cleveland ranks 18th in OPS and 16th in runs scored. Take the over. Final Score Prediction, Boston Red Sox win 6-5.
