Blue Jays at Orioles 9/17/19 - MLB Picks & Predictions

AL East Division foes will clash on Tuesday night, when the Toronto Blue Jays travel to Camden Yards to take on the Baltimore Orioles. On Sunday, Randall Grichuk went deep twice to power Toronto to a 6-4 home victory versus New York. Rookie Bo Bichette had two hits and scored a run for the Blue Jays, who won for the 59th time.

Twenty-five year old righty Trent Thornton (5-9 5.04 ERA) will head to the hill for the Blue Jays in this contest. In his last start, Thornton struck out seven batters in five innings during an 8-0 home victory versus Boston.

Rookie manager Brandon Hyde knew he had a long road ahead when he was hired to lead the Baltimore Orioles. The results have been expected, as the Orioles have lost 101 games, but Hyde’s team plays hard. Baltimore OF Trey Mancini leads the club with 33 home runs and 84 runs batted in.

The Orioles will turn to talented right-hander Dylan Bundy (6-14 4.99 ERA) on Tuesday. Baltimore has lost each of Bundy’s last three starts and he has given up ten runs over his last 17 plus frames.

Baltimore DH Mark Trumbo was scratched on Monday due to a left trapezius strain and is listed as day-to-day. Through 150 games, Toronto ranks 24th in OPS and 23rd in runs scored. For the season, Baltimore ranks 25th in OPS and 24th in runs scored. Take the Orioles to win at home. Final Score Prediction, Baltimore Orioles win 6-4.
