Baltimore Orioles at Detroit Tigers 7/29/21 - MLB Picks & Predictions

The Detroit Tigers will host game one of four Thursday night against the Baltimore Orioles at Comerica Park. Baltimore is again a bottom feeder in the MLB coming into this game with a34-65 record after a 7-3 loss to the Miami Marlins. Spenser Watkins Got the start for Baltimore giving up four runs on nine hits across four innings of work resulting in the loss. The Baltimore bullpen struggled as well giving up three runs on six hits as the game was put out of reach across the final five innings.

Baltimore struggled from the plate against the Marlins posting only eight hits in 34 at bats including a minuscule 1-6 with runners in scoring position to leave five men on base. Cedric Mullins and Austin Hays supplied most of the offense for Baltimore hitting a solo home run each.

The Detroit Tigers return home after a series against the Minnesota Twins with a 48-55 overall record. After following behind early Detroit rallied back for a 6-5 win in the 10th inning. Tyler Alexander got the start for Detroit giving up six hits and five earned runs including a Grand Slam in the first inning resulting in a no decision. The Detroit bullpen held true and gave the Tigers a chance at a rally before Jose Cisnero came on in relief giving up no runs on no hits to pick up the win.

The Detroit bats struggled throughout the game failing to string together timely hits until Eric Haase tied the game with one swing of the bat in the top of the ninth with a game tying Grand Slam. Miguel Cabrera drove in the would be  winning run with an RBI single in the top of the 11th inning.
