The Atlanta Braves will be on the road for game 1 of the NLDS to take on the Milwaukee Brewers at American Family Field. The Braves made the playoff by winning the NL East division narrowly squeaking by the Philadelphia Phillies. Charlie Morton ( 14-6 3.34 ERA) will get the start for Atlanta to open the playoffs on Friday. Morton allowed 69 runs on 136 hits in 185.2 starts across 33 outings in 2021.

Austin Riley led the Braves offense with a .303 batting average to go along with a team high 33 home runs and 107 hits. Freddie Freeman boasted a team high 180 hits to go along with a .393 OBP.

The Milwaukee Brewers won the division with a 95-67 record on the year having clinched several weeks ago. Milwaukee ended the year on a 4 game skid as the majority of the starters rested to close the year. Aaron Ashby took the loss last game out for Milwaukee giving up 6 runs on 3 hits, while recording only 2 outs in a relief appearance.

Offensively Milwaukee struggled against the Dodgers going 7-35 from the plate including 3-10 with runners in scoring position to leave 7 men on base. Rowdy Tellez led the way for Milwaukee going 2-3 on the day to drive in 1 run, while Eduardo Escobar and Avisail Garcia chipped in 1 RBI each.

Both team come into the playoffs prepped and ready to go as division champions but Atlanta will have a slight edge here .
