The Atlanta Braves play the second game of a three-game series on the road Saturday against the Miami Marlins. Atlanta is 66-46 following its 8-4 victory over the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday. Atlanta swept a short two-game interleague series with the Red Sox, which snapped a three-game losing streak. Atlanta is second in the National League East, seven games behind the first-place New York Mets.

Third baseman Austin Riley is batting .297 with 30 home runs, 74 RBIs, 129 hits and an on-base percentage of .358 which leads Atlanta in each category. Matt Olson is second in home runs with 21 and RBIs with 70. On Saturday, the Atlanta Braves will send Spencer Strider to the mound. The right-hander is 6-4 with a 3.11 ERA, 138 Ks and 34 BBs.

The Miami Marlins improved to 50-61 following a 3-0 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday. Edward Cabrera threw 5+ strong innings for Miami. Miami has lost four out of the last six and the Marlins are fourth in the National League East, 22 ½  games behind the first place New York Mets.

First baseman Garrett Cooper is batting .274 to lead Miami and also has a team-high on-base percentage at .349. First baseman Jesus Aguilar is the leader in home runs with 13, RBIs with 44 and hits with 90. Miami has not announced its starting pitcher for Saturday's second game of a three-game series at home against the Atlanta Braves.

Although Atlanta has dominated this matchup, the Braves will have a starting pitcher who struggled last time out. Atlanta starter Spencer Strider allowed four runs on six hits across only 2 ⅔  innings resulting in a 5-2 loss to the New York Mets last Sunday.
