The Oakland Athletics play the second game of their final series of the regular season on the road Friday against the Seattle Mariners. With the win the A’s remain a half-game ahead of Tampa Bay for the top American League wildcard.

Seattle lost to the Houston Astros on Wednesday 3-0. Austin Nola hit a one-out single in the ninth inning for Seattle’s breaking up the no-hit bid of Houston right-hander Zack Greinke. Seattle lost 17 of 18 games played this season against Houston. The season began promising for Seattle, but quickly turned against them and after this weekend they will put it all behind them.

Marcus Semien leads Oakland with a .288 batting average. Matt Olson leads in home runs with 35 while Semien leads in RBIs with 91 and in hits with 186.
