Astros at Yankees 10/16/19 - MLB - Playoffs Picks & Predictions

Game Four of the ALCS between the Houston Astros and the New York Yankees will take place on Wednesday from the Bronx. On Tuesday, SP Gerrit Cole struck out seven batters across seven shutout innings to pitch Houston to a 4-1 road victory. Jose Altuve and Josh Reddick each went deep for the Astros on the afternoon.

Rookie right-hander Jose Urquidy (2-1 3.95 ERA) is expected to make the start for the Astros on Wednesday. Through 41 career innings, Urquidy struck out 40 batters and posted a solid 1.10 WHIP.

The New York Yankees possess the most potent offense in baseball, but were limited to just two extra base hits in Game Three. New York did not get on the scoreboard until Gleyber Torres connected on an eighth inning solo shot. SP Luis Severino gave up two runs in four plus innings and took the loss for the Yankees, who trail this best-of-seven series 2-1.

New York manager Aaron Boone is likely to use a bullpen approach to Game Four. The Yankees have used Chad Green as an opener several times this season and ranked ninth in baseball with a 4.08 bullpen ERA.

New York OF Giancarlo Stanton is dealing with a right quadriceps strain and is being listed as questionable for this contest. Through 162 regular season games, Houston ranked 1st in OPS and 3rd in runs scored. For the season, New York ranked 3rd in OPS and 1st in runs scored. Take the Yankees to even this series with a home victory. Final Score Prediction, New York Yankees win 5-3.
