The ALCS between the Houston Astros and the New York Yankees will shift to the Bronx for Game Three on Tuesday. On Sunday, Houston SS Carlos Correa evened the series with a walk-off home run in the 11th inning of a 3-2 home victory. SP Justin Verlander struck out seven batters and gave up two runs in six plus innings for the Astros.
Twenty-nine year old righty Gerrit Cole (20-5 2.50 ERA) has been lights out for Houston all season long. Through 15 plus postseason innings, Cole has fanned 25 batters and allowed just one run.
The New York Yankees won 57 games at home during the regular season and will host the next three games of this best-of-seven series. In Game Two, nine New York pitchers combined to strike out 14 batters. Aaron Judge connected on a two-run blast in the fourth inning in a losing effort for the Yankees.
The Yankees will counter with talented right-hander Luis Severino (1-1 1.50 ERA) in Game Three. Severino, who missed most of the regular season with a shoulder injury, tossed four scoreless innings during a 5-1 series clinching victory at Minnesota.
