Carlos Correa connected on his 12th home run for Houston, who has edged ahead of Seattle for the AL West Division lead.
2015 Cy Young Award winner Dallas Keuchel (3-8 4.45 ERA) has gotten off to a slow start for the Astros. In his last start, Keuchel was tagged for 13 hits and six runs during an 8-7 road victory against Texas.
The Kansas City Royals have dropped four straight games and have lost 47 of their first 69 games overall. On Friday, SP Jake Junis (5-7) gave up six runs in five plus innings and was the losing pitcher. Mike Moustakas drove in all three runs for Kansas City, who is currently in last place in the AL Central Division standings.
Kansas City skipper Ned Yost will turn to twenty-nine year old southpaw Danny Duffy (3-6 5.28 ERA) on Saturday. Last time out, Duffy fanned ten batters over seven scoreless frames during a 2-0 victory at Oakland.
