The top two teams in the majors will clash on Saturday night, when the Houston Astros and Boston Red Sox play Game One of the ALCS from Fenway Park. The defending World Series Champion Astros swept past Cleveland in the ALDS by a 21-6 combined score over the three games. All-Star 3B Alex Bregman led Houston with 31 home runs and 103 runs batted in during the regular season.

2011 Cy Young Award winner Justin Verlander (16-9 2.52 ERA) will get the nod for the Astros in the series opener. Verlander ranked first in the American League with 290 strikeouts and a 0.90 WHIP.
The Boston Red Sox won a major league high 108 games this year and were 33 games above .500 at home. The Red Sox needed four games to dispose of the New York Yankees in the ALDS, winning the final two contests in the Bronx. All-Star OF Mookie Betts led Boston with a .346 batting average, while All-Star OF J.D. Martinez led the club with 43 home runs and a major league best 130 RBIs.

Twenty-nine year old southpaw Chris Sale (12-4 2.11 ERA) will head to the hill for the Red Sox on Saturday. Sale started the All-Star Game and ranked third with 237 strikeouts and an astonishing 0.86 WHIP.

Boston RP Steven Wright (knee) was removed from the ALDS roster and his status is uncertain. Through 162 regular season games, Houston ranked 7th in batting average and 6th in runs scored. For the season, Boston ranked 1st in batting average and 1st in runs scored.
