The Sunday MLB schedule will get underway with a matchup between the Houston Astros and Baltimore Orioles from Camden Yards. On Saturday, Houston swept a doubleheader against Baltimore by 4-3 and 5-2 final score. In the opening game, All-Star SP Justin Verlander struck out ten batters over six scoreless frames. The Astros have clinched the AL West Division and will face Cleveland in the ALDS.

Thirty-four year old righty Charlie Morton (15-3 3.18 ERA) will take the mound for the Astros in this matchup. Morton has been dealing with a shoulder injury and owns a 1.17 WHIP this season. The Baltimore Orioles are doing a lot of things that have never been done in franchise history and none of them are good. The Orioles have lost a franchise record 115 games and will finish a major league record 60 plus games out of first place. Baltimore 1B Chris Davis will not play in this game and finish the season with a .168 batting average, which is the lowest average by a qualifier in major league history.

Baltimore skipper Buck Showalter has yet to name a starting pitcher for the final game of the regular season. The Orioles rank last in the majors with a 5.22 team ERA and a 1.50 WHIP.

Baltimore DH Mark Trumbo (knee) has been transferred to the 60-day disabled list. Through 161 games, Houston ranks 7th in batting average and 5th in runs scored. For the season, Baltimore ranks 25th in batting average and 27th in runs scored. Take Houston to head into the postseason with their their fourth straight victory.
