The Houston Astros conclude a three-game series on the road against the Oakland Athletics on Sunday. Houston fell to 6-7 following its 3-2 loss to the Athletics in the opening game of the series on Friday. With the loss, Houston has lost three straight and is 3 ½  games behind the first-place A's in the American League West.

Carlos Correa is batting .375 to lead the Astros and has a team-high 18 hits. Jose Altuve is leading Houston in home runs with three and George Springer is the leader in RBIs with 12.  On Sunday, Houston will send Cristian Javier to the mound. The right-hander is 1-0 with an ERA of 1.42, 11 Ks and 2 BBs. 

Oakland improved to 10-4 following a 3-2 walk-off win on Friday over the Astros. Marcus Seaman singled in the bottom half of the 13th inning to knock in the winning run for the Athletics. Oakland has now won seven straight. The 13-inning game was the longest of this season in the majors with the new MLB extra Inning rule that puts a runner on second base to start each half inning.

Ramon Laureano is  batting .292 to lead Oakland and has a team-high 14 hits. Matt Olson is leading in home runs with four and in RBIs with 10. On Sunday, Oakland will send Jesus Luzardo to the mound. The left-hander 0-0 with an ERA of 2.31, 12 Ks and 5 BBs.

Oakland has stretched its lead at the top of the American League West to 3 ½  games over the Astros. The A's have won each of their last seven overall and four of their last five at home in RingCentral Stadium over the Astros.
