Angel Stadium will play host to a Thursday afternoon interleague clash between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Los Angeles Angels. Last night, Arizona scored six runs in the first three innings and coasted to a 9-6 road triumph. Kole Calhoun and David Peralta each homered in the seventh inning for the Diamondbacks, who are 12 games below .500 overall.

Twenty-seven year old southpaw Alex Young (2-3 4.42 ERA) will take the mound for the Diamondbacks in this matchup. Last time out, Young allowed two runs in five plus innings during a 4-3 home victory versus Seattle.

The Los Angeles Angels have dropped 14 of their 26 home games and are likely to miss the postseason again. On Wednesday, SP Dylan Bundy (5-3) was forced to exit after surrendering six runs (5 ER) and recording just eight outs. Justin Upton and Max Stassi each went deep in a losing effort for the Angels (20-30).

The Angels will give the nod to talented right-hander Griffin Canning (0-3 4.57 ERA) on Thursday. Through 45 plus innings, Canning has surrendered eight home runs and owns a .137 WHIP.

Arizona OF Ketel Marte is currently on the 10-day injured list with left wrist inflammation. Through 50 games, Arizona ranks 28th in OPS and 22nd in runs scored. Los Angeles counters with an offense that ranks 14th in OPS and 7th in runs scored. Take the Angels to win at home. Final Score Prediction, Los Angeles Angels 6-4.
