The New York Yankees took Friday night’s series opener by a run, but could not get on track yesterday. SP Sonny Gray (3-4) was tagged for five runs in three plus innings and took the loss. Aaron Judge connected on his 14th home run of the season for the Yankees, who trail Boston by two games for the AL East Division lead.
Talented right-hander Masahiro Tanaka (5-2 4.95 ERA) will make his 11th start of the season for the Yankees. New York has won each of Tanaka’s last six starts and he owns a 1.10 WHIP on the year.
