2021 NL Cy Young Odds - Fairly Wide Open Race

With injuries and trades in the 2021 season the NL Cy Young Award has become a 4 man race. Zach Wheeler (+175)  is currently the slim favorite with Walker Buehler (+300) on his heels, while Corbin Burnes ( +330) and Brandon Woodruff (+600) fill out the top 4 as the ones to beat.

Zack Wheeler is the new favorite to win the NL Cy Young with the recent injury to Jacob deGrom. deGrom was the clear cut favorite but now Wheeler (+175) has slipped into the lead. Wheeler is 10-7 on the year and looking to strap the Phillies to his back in route to a playoff birth with a possible NL East title as well. Wheeler doesn't have the best numbers on this list but currently is the favorite.

Walker Buehler has far and away been the best pitcher on the Dodgers. The Dodgers chances of a repeat rest in the hands of their right handed ace. Buehler (+ 300) is 12-2 on the year with a ERA just over 2. Buehler has the best value of anyone in the top half of this list as he will help carry the reigning world champs into the playoffs.

Corbin Burnes has been the best pitcher on one of the most surprising teams in the Major Leagues this season. Burnes (+330) is 8-4 with a 2.13 ERA. There is value with Burnes but the 2 in front of him are pitchers whose teams are not dominating a division. Burnes will continue to roll this year but the Cy Young is a little out of reach.

Brandon Woodruff would be the overwhelming favorite if he had gotten some run support this year. Woodruff (+600) has a 2.18 ERA but due to lack of help from the bats is only 7-6. Woodruff is most likely out of the race for the Cy Young but will help the Brewers make the playoffs and compete for a world title.
