The Giants are one team that has not really proven that they can compete in the NL West. To make matters worse the Giants ended up losing Bumgarner in the off season and that will definitely prove to be a problem for the Giants as the season moves on. The Giants also did not shore up their offense either with a player that can consistently hit the ball out of the park and that makes it even harder to win.

The pitching rotation for the Giants is going to have some decent pitchers on the mound, but also a lot of question marks. A lot of the question marks stems around the health of Johnny Cueto. Cueto is now an older player and while he has pitched decent in the past he has had some questionable health calls as well. With the bullpen the Giants are not really shaping up that well either and just like the starting rotation questions on the health can come up.

When it comes the infield the Giants have a couple of their main offensive power houses in Brandon Belt and Evan Longoria. The catcher for the Giants is Buster Posey who has really been the other offensive weapon for the Giants. Now, though, the Giants need to really push those players and potentially get some improvement for the offense.

The outfield for the Giants does have Hamilton who is a major speedster. The downside is without much in the way of a threat for hitting for average or even in getting on base himself Hamilton will not be able to rely on the speed of Hamilton. The rest of the outfield is not anything that should breakout on the year and that might end up causing the Giants to have a lot of issues on the year.

While the Giants may not be a major threat on the year the Giants are a team that could really make a difference in the race at times. Now, the big question mark for the Giants is the health of Cueto and some of their infielders. Look for those problems to continue to be question marks that last all season long for the Giants as the Giants continue to struggle this year and most likely finish in dead last in the NL West.
