Free MLB Baseball Picks for June 2, 2012
There is one thing I have learned and experienced over the years and that is if there is a historical game like a no hitter or a perfect game or the biggest beat down in history, it sure is nice to be on the right side of it and we were yesterday in Johan Santana’s no hitter for the New York Mets. Of course there is plenty of MLB action on tap for today and once again I give several free picks and of course after you grab your free pick be sure to check out our Premium Picks by Expert Handicappers.
Oakland A’s +100 vs. Kansas City Royals 2:10 PM EST
I have been taking the A’s with McCarthy all season long and while the Athletics themselves have become a general bad bet, McCarthy hasn’t proven to be one as well and getting him as a dog against a Royals team which has trouble winning isn’t a bad thing. I wouldn’t call McCarthy a strong play anymore because of just how bad Oakland has been of late but with Hochevar you never know what you are going to get making him nearly unplayable at all.
Chicago White Sox -165 vs. Seattle Mariners 4:10 PM EST
There is no team playing better baseball in the Majors than the Chicago White Sox and while I believe they are for real and going places, I haven’t been on the South Siders all that much as when it comes to the whole being a fan thing, it’s well documented I am for the Sox so the whole heart vs. head thing gets in the way. If there is a spot the White Sox are vulnerable it’s Gavin Floyd (and Matt Thornton out of the pen) but up against Noesi for the M’s I can see the South Siders putting up some big offensive numbers.
Pittsburgh Pirates +135 vs. Milwaukee Brewers 7:10 PM EST
The Pirates were my dog of the day yesterday and I cashed big on them and then today we get them at another nice price. Of course in order to cash on the Bucs here we will need a big performance from Bedard and we will also need to beat Marcum but really in this one it is back to the basics, we are getting the better team at +135 on our money and it’s well worth it as the numbers don’t lie. Pittsburgh is three games ahead of Milwaukee, has a winning record, and have allowed 71 fewer runs this season.
Minnesota Twins +120 vs. Cleveland Indians 7:15 PM EST
I loved the Indians yesterday but I don’t love them today. P.J. Walters looks like a legitimate young talent on the mound and Tomlin, when he gets hit he gets hit very hard. The Twins are awful, no doubt about it, but as I say all the time in baseball even the very best teams lose 65-70 games a year and I’m not even sure I can count the Indians among the very best, in fact I know I can’t. The Tribe will lose plenty this year and this looks like another spot for them to do so.
