The Wyoming Cowboys and Georgia State Panthers are set to visit Arizona Stadium in Tucson, Arizona as they will meet in the Nova Home Loans Arizona Bowl. The Wyoming Cowboys come into this matchup with a 7-5 record, and they will be looking to rebound after dropping their recent road game against the Air Force Falcons, 20-6. Freshman QB Levi Williams struggled to get much going through the air for the Wyoming offense as he threw for 84 yards and 1 interception. Sophomore RB Xazavian Valladay was bottled up by the Air Force defense as he ran for 38 yards on 14 carries.

The Wyoming Cowboys were solid on the defensive side of the ball against the Air Force Falcons as they held them to 20 points and a total of 305 yards of offense. Senior safety Alijah Halliburton led the way for the Wyoming defense with 13 tackles while junior DE Garrett Crall and senior LB Logan Wilson combined for 20 tackles. Senior LB Cassh Maluia was able to get into the Air Force backfield a handful of times as he pitched in 6 tackles and 3 TFL.

The Georgia State Panthers come into this matchup with a 7-5 record, and they will be looking to rebound after dropping their recent road game against the Georgia Southern Eagles, 38-10. Senior QB Dan Ellington was unable to get much offense generated through the air for Georgia State as he connected on 18 of his 27 pass attempts for 182 yards. Sophomore WR Cornelius McCoy was the top target for Ellington and the Panthers as he hauled in 7 catches for 89 yards.

The Georgia State Panthers struggled on the defensive side of the ball against the Georgia Southern Eagles as they allowed them to score 38 points and rack up a total of 352 yards of offense. Junior LB Trajan Stephens-McQueen led the way for the Georgia State defense with 6 tackles. The Panthers were able to get into the Georgia Southern backfield a handful of times as junior DE Hardrick Willis, junior DT Dontae Wilson, and sophomore safety Chris Bacon combined for 4.5 TFL.

This will be a battle of a good offense vs. a good defense, but I believe the Wyoming Cowboys will prevail as they have been one of the top defensive teams in the country. The Cowboys are holding their opponents to an average of 17.8 PPG, and the strength of the unit is their run defense as they are holding their opponents to an average of 101.6 yards per game. Georgia State will have problems getting their run game going against the Wyoming defense which is the base of their offense as they are running for an average of 245.2 yards per game, and that will give the Wyoming offense an advantage as they should run wild on Georgia State. The Panthers are allowing an average of 36.1 PPG and 211.6 rushing yards per game, and the addition of freshman QB Levi Williams gives the offense another weapon on the ground. I expect Wyoming to control this game with their ground game, and their defense will continue to be one of the top in the nation. Final Score Prediction, Wyoming Cowboys win and cover ATS 24-13.
