On Thursday, the West Virginia Mountaineers visit McLane Stadium in Waco, Texas to play the No. 14 ranked Baylor Bears. West Virginia had a bye week this weekend and was routed in the last game before the bye, by Oklahoma 52-14. The loss dropped West Virginia to 3-4 on the season and 1-3 in Big 12 play. The Mountaineers trailed 14-0 after one quarter and 28-14 at the half but were outscored in the second half 24-0.

Baylor had a bye this week as well and remained 7-0 after beating Oklahoma State in its last game prior to the bye 45-27. In the win Charlie Brewer threw for 312 yards and one touchdown, while JaMycal Hasty rushed for 146 yards and two touchdowns for the Bears and Josh Fleeks had 126 yards receiving and one touchdown.

Mountaineers quarterback Austin Kendall has 1,429 yards passing, 11 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Kennedy McKoy is the leading rusher with 188 yards and three touchdowns. T.J. Simmons is the leading receiver with 409 yards and four touchdowns. The leading tackler for West Virginia is Josh Chandler with 51.

Charlie Brewer leads the Bears with 1,866yards passing, 12 touchdowns and three interceptions. The leading rusher for Baylor is John Lovett with 446 yards and four touchdowns. Denzel Mims leads all receivers with 519 yards and five touchdowns, while Tyquan Thornton has 507 yards receiving and three TDs. Clay Johnston leads the Bears in tackles with 58.

Baylor is a much better squad on both sides of the ball. Offensively the Bears have a balanced running and passing game, while the defense is allowing just 19.1 points per game and the offense is scoring 38.9 per game.
