The wheels seem to be coming off for Syracuse (1-2), which makes hosting Western Michigan (2-1) this weekend not as sure of a thing as it might have seemed before the season started. Last year Syracuse beat Western Michigan in an away game 52-42 en route to a 10-win season.

Syracuse started the year at No. 21 in the AP poll, but since then they have been blown out by unranked Maryland and No. 1 Clemson. Over the last two weeks, Syracuse has been outscored 104-26.

Western Michigan is 2-1 after blowing out two smaller schools and losing 51-27 to No. 19 Michigan State. The Broncos had a school-record seven rushing touchdowns last week against Georgia State.
