The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers will take a long road trip to Honolulu, HI for week one of the college football regular season. Western Kentucky comes into week one undefeated at 1-0 on the year after a 38-27 win over Austin Peay in week 1. Offensively Western Kentucky moved the ball well totaling 387 yards of offense to score 38 points including 17 in the fourth quarter to get the victory.

Austin Reed led the way for Western Kentucky completing 20 of 34 through the air for 279 yards and four scores in the game. Daewood Davis led all receivers with 124 yards and one score on six receptions, while Malachi Corley added 61 yards and three touchdowns on five receptions as well.

The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors will play Game 2 up their season in week one following a 53 point blowout loss to Vanderbilt. The Fighting Rainbows were obliterated on the defensive side of the ball giving up 601 total yards of offense including 404 on the ground as The Commodores scored 63 points including 42 in the second half.

Hawaii used two different quarterbacks combining to complete 28 to 55 passes for only 250 yards and no scores. Jonah Panoke was the only real bright spot in the Hawaii offense compiling 101 receiving yards on seven catches.

The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers are the much better team in this matchup and will dominate a bad Hawaii team in week one. Despite the long travel look for Western Kentucky to control this game from the opening kickoff as they will coast to their second victory of the year.
