In the Tony the Tiger Sun bowl, the Central Michigan Chippewas will play host to the Washington State Cougars. The Cougars are a last-minute replacement in this game against Central Michigan on New Year's Eve at 12 PM Eastern time kick off. The game will be available on the ESPN family of networks. Washington State comes into this game with a record on the season of 7–5, and are winners of their last two consecutive games against Washington on the road, and against Arizona at home by the score of 44–18.

The Central Michigan University Chippewas come into this game with a record on the season of 8–4, and are winners of their last four consecutive games all coming in the Mid American Conference. Victory's came over Eastern Michigan, Ball State, Kent State, and Western Michigan. The only defeat for the Chippewas came against Northern Illinois University by the score of 39–38.

Jayden De Laura, the sophomore quarterback from Honolulu Hawaii is leading Washington State in passing yards with 2751 on the season. Jaden has 23 touchdowns and only nine interceptions this year. Max Borghi is leading the team in rushing with 880 yards to go along with 12 touchdowns on the season. Max has 160 carries this year. Calvin Jackson Jr. is leading the team and receiving at 955 yards on 63 receptions for seven touchdowns this year.

Daniel Richardson is leading Central Michigan in passing with 2424 yards. Richardson has 23 touchdowns and only five interceptions this season. Lew Nicholls is leading the team in rushing with 1710 yards on the ground on 311 carries this season. Nichols has 15 touchdowns. Kalil Pimpleton is leading the team in receiving with 920 yards on 58 receptions to go along with four touchdowns.

The MAC Conference has pretty much dominated this bowl season however this Washington state team as a replacement comes into this game as a large favorite. With a lack of preparation for the Chippewas, I do see Central Michigan keeping it close however coming up short. Washington State wins 38-28.
