Washington at Utah 9/15/18 - College Football Picks & Predictions

The No. 10 ranked Washington Huskies (1-1) visit Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City to play the Utah Utes (2-0) in a Pac-12 showdown on Saturday night.

Washington bounced back from an opening season loss to Auburn to beat North Dakota 45-3 on Saturday. The Huskies did not pull away in the game until the second half, but nonetheless were in control throughout. Quarterback Jake Browning passed for 313 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The Huskies led 24-3 after three quarters, but added three touchdowns during the fourth. However, the offense still is not firing on all cylinders.

Utah needed an interception for a touchdown to help beat Northern Illinois 17-6 on Saturday night. Zack Moss rushed for one touchdown, but it was a late interception return for a score by Chase Hanson that iced the game for the Utes. Utah trailed 3-0 at the half, before scoring an offensive TD in the third quarter to go up 7-3 prior to the late interception. The Utes had one field goal blocked and fumbled the ball away on a punt return that helped keep the game close. Huskies quarterback Jake Browning has completed 41 of his 69 passes for 609 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions. Myles Gaskin leads the team in rushing with 128 yards and one touchdown. The leading receiver is Aaron Fuller with 209 yards on 13 receptions. Ty Jones has 153 yards receiving and two touchdowns for Washington.

Utah quarterback Tyler Huntley has competed 45 of his 71 passes for 565 yards, four touchdowns and one interception. The Utes leading rusher is Zack Moss with 216 yards and two touchdowns with an 86-yard run for one score. Britain Covey leads the team with 15 receptions for 208 yards. The next leading receiver is Jaylen Dixon with 90 yards.

Although Washington has not played well on offense through two games, the Huskies offense is playing much better than that of Utah. The Utes played poorly turning the ball over and not finishing plays against the less talented Northern Illinois Huskies in a game the Utes could have lost if not for a late interception. This will be the Huskies break out game, lay the points with the road chalk. Final Score Prediction, Washington Huskies win and cover ATS 27-17
