Virginia Tech vs Florida State Picks and Prediction – 10/7/2023

Last week, Virginia Tech built a 14-point halftime lead and held Pittsburgh scoreless during the fourth quarter of a 38-21 home victory. 

Sophomore QB Kyron Drones sparked the Virginia Tech offense with 228 passing yards and three touchdowns. Drones added two scores on the ground. Da’Quon Felton caught a 54-yard touchdown pass to give the Hokies an early 7-0 lead. Virginia Tech gained 25 first downs compared to just nine for Pittsburgh.

The Florida State Seminoles have reeled off four straight victories to start the season and are in the driver’s seat to reach the ACC Conference Championship. The fifth-ranked Seminoles are throwing for a shade under 280 yards on average and are scoring 43.4 points per contest. Last time out, Florida State needed overtime to escape Death Valley with a 31-24 victory against Clemson. 

Florida State scored first in overtime on a 24-yard touchdown pass from Jordan Travis to Keon Coleman. The Seminoles trailed 24-17 in the third quarter, when Kalen DeLoach tied the game on a 56-yard fumble return. Florida State was outgained by a 429-311 margin and rushed for just 22 yards.
