Virginia at Virginia Tech 11/26/22 - College Football Picks & Predictions

The Virginia Cavaliers will be in Blacksburg, VA this week for a rivalry week matchup against the Virginia Tech Hokies. Virginia has only three wins through 10 games played after losing four of the last five games. Defensively Virginia was obliterated in their last game as Pittsburgh accumulated nearly 400 total yards of offense including 208 through the air to score 37 points following a 28 point first quarter. Offensively Virginia struggled immensely totaling only 144 yards after -8 came on the ground.

Brennan Armstrong led the way for the Virginia offense completing 17 of 32 passes for 152 yards and one score. Mike Collins was the top ball carrier in the game for Virginia with 23 yards on 8 carries. Malachi fields posted a team high 58 yards and one score on five receptions and Billy Kemp IV added four catches for 38 yards as well.

The Virginia Tech Hokies return home this week following a one point loss against Liberty a week ago. Offensively Virginia Tech controlled the game compiling 324 total yards to score 23 points in the game after 17 came in the first half. Defensively the Hokies did just enough holding Liberty to 332 total yards and 22 points after posting a fourth quarter shutout.

Grant Wells carried the Virginia Tech offense completing 14 of 20 passes for 148 yards and ran the ball 16 times for four yards as well. Jalen Houston led all ball carriers in the game with 99 yards and three scores on 26 carries, while Nick Gallo added 45 yards on two catches as well.
