UTEP at Western Kentucky 11/17/18 - College Football Picks & Predictions

Two 1-9 teams collide on Saturday when the UTEP Miner visit L.T. Smith Stadium in Bowling Green, Kentucky to play the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers. UTEP had a bye this past week and one it’s only game thus far the prior week 34-26 over Rice. The win ended UTEP’s 20-game losing streak as Quardraiz Wadley rushed for 91 yards and two touchdowns.

Western Kentucky lost its sixth straight and ninth in 10 games on Saturday after falling to FAU 34-15. The Hilltoppers scored a touchdown on Steven Duncan’s TD pass of 15 yards to Mik’Quan Dean, but the extra point was blocked and a field goal as time ran out in the first half narrowed the deficit to 10-9, but Western Kentucky would get no closer, being outscored 24-6 after halftime. UTEP quarterback Kai Lockley has thrown for 935 yards, three touchdowns and six interceptions. The leading rusher for the Miners is Quardraiz Wadley with 574 yards rushing and seven touchdowns. Warren Redix leads all receivers with 378 yards.

Western Kentucky quarterback Steven Duncan has thrown for 765 yards, six touchdowns and five interceptions. Joshua Samuel is the leading rusher with 532 yards and one touchdown. Lucky Jackson leads the Hilltoppers in receiving with 42 receptions for 497 yards and three touchdowns, while Jacquez Sloan has 495 yards receiving.

The two teams are a collective 2-18 on the season. The only advantage if any is Western Kentucky will be playing on its home field, but that advantage is UTEP’s. The Miners are 4-1 ATS on the road this season while Western Kentucky at home this season is a dismal 1-3 ATS. Go with the road team in this one to cover.
