Utah vs USC 12/2/22 - College Football Picks & Predictions

Beautiful Allegiant Stadium will play host to Friday night’s PAC 12 Conference Championship Game between the Utah Utes and the USC Trojans. The 14th ranked Utes (9-3) finished in a three-way tie for second place in the conference standings and rank tenth nationally in rushing offense (220 ypg). On Saturday, Utah scored the first 42 points of the game and cruised to a 63-21 road triumph against lowly Colorado.

Utah junior QB Cameron Rising completed 17 of 19 passes for 234 yards and three touchdowns. WR Dalton Kincaid hauled in five passes for 102 yards and found the end zone on a 29-yard strike. Ja’Quinden Jackson needed just ten carries to rush for 117 yards and three scores.

The USC Trojans won eight of their nine conference games, with their only loss coming at Utah by a 43-42 final score. The fourth-ranked Trojans (11-1) own the nation’s third-highest scoring offense at 42.5 points per contest and could earn a spot in the College Football Playoff with a win in this game. On Saturday, USC raced out to a ten-point lead after one quarter and were never seriously threatened during a 38-27 home victory versus 15th ranked Notre Dame.

USC QB Caleb Williams was an extremely efficient 18-of-22 passing for 232 yards and a touchdown. Williams added 35 rushing yards and a five-yard touchdown run. Austin Jones continued to fill in admirably for injured RB Travis Dye with a team-high 154 rushing yards on 25 carries.

USC owns a 13-8 edge over Utah in this series, but the Utes have averaged 42.5 points in consecutive victories versus the Trojans. In that game, Utah threw for 424 yards against a prius USC secondary. Take the Utes to pull off the upset. Final Score Prediction, Utah Utes win 35-31.
