USC at Texas 9/15/18 - College Football Picks & Predictions

The No. 22 ranked USC Trojans (1-1) head to the Lone Star State on Saturday and Royal Texas Memorial Stadium to play the Texas Longhorns (1-1).

USC lost to Pac-12 rival Stanford on Saturday night 17-3. The Trojans offense was stymied by a strong front seven for the Cardinal. The Stanford defense put loads of pressure on USC true freshman quarterback JT Daniels by sacking the signal caller four times and forcing three turnovers. USC scored the least number of points in any game since 1997. Daniels passed for 215 yards with two interceptions in the loss.

The Texas Longhorns bounced back from a loss in the season opener with a 28-21 win over Tulsa. Quarterback Sam Ehlinger rushed for one touchdown and passed for two, with the second touchdown clinching the victory for the Longhorns in the fourth quarter. However, the results were not pleasing to Longhorns fans who were expecting a blow out over Tulsa. Freshman quarterback JT Daniels has thrown for 497 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions for USC. The leading rusher is Aca’Cedric Ware with 159 yards and one touchdown, while Stephen Carr has 106 yards on the ground. Amon-Ra St. Brown leads the Trojans with nine receptions for 137 yards and one touchdown.

Texas quarterback Sam Ehlinger has completed 42 of 66 passes for 500 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions. Tre Watson is the leading rusher with 126 yards, while Keaontay Ingram has 101 yards rushing and two touchdowns. The leading receiver for the Longhorns is Lil’Jordan Humphrey with 13 receptions for 191 yards and one touchdown.
