UNLV at Fresno State 10/18/19 - College Football Picks & Predictions

The UNLV Rebels are set to visit Bulldog Stadium in Fresno, California for a Mountain West clash against the Fresno State Bulldogs. The UNLV Rebels come into this matchup with a 2-4 record, and they will be looking to continue their success after winning their recent road game against the Vanderbilt Commodores, 34-10. QB Kenyon Oblad had an efficient game through the air for the Rebels as he connected on 11 of his 16 pass attempts for 172 yards and 2 TDs. RB Chad Magyar had a big game on the ground for UNLV as he compiled 116 yards and a TD on 22 carries.

The UNLV Rebels were solid on the defensive side of the ball against the Vanderbilt Commodores as they held them to 10 points and a total of 306 yards of offense. Senior LB Rayshad Jackson led the way for the UNLV defense with 9 tackles, 1.5 TFL, and a forced fumble. Senior LB Javin White had a productive game for the Rebels as he racked up 7 tackles and 2.5 TFL while also contributing the lone interception of the game.

The Fresno State Bulldogs come into this matchup with a 2-3 record, and they will be looking to rebound after dropping their recent road game against the Air Force Falcons, 43-24. QB Jorge Reyna had a solid game through the air for the Falcons as he connected on 20 of his 27 pass attempts for 209 yards, 2 TDs, and 1 interception. WR Emoryie Edwards was the top target for Reyna and the Bulldogs as he hauled in 4 catches for 73 yards and a TD.

The Fresno State Bulldogs struggled on the defensive side of the ball against the Air Force Falcons as they allowed them to score 43 points and rack up a total of 421 yards of offense. Junior LB Justin Rice led the way for the Fresno State defense as he contributed 13 tackles. Freshman DL Alex Dumais was able to get into the Air Force backfield a handful of times as he contributed 7 tackles and 2 TFL.

The UNLV Rebels are coming off an impressive win over an SEC team even if they are one of the worst, but Fresno State should be able to beat up on the Rebels as they rank 103rd in points allowed this season. The Bulldogs lost a ton of offensive weapons this offseason, but Jorge Reyna has been solid at QB as he has thrown for 1212 yards, 9 TDs, and 4 interceptions. The Rebels have a backup QB under center, and I expect Fresno State to throw different looks and blitzes at him to try and rattle him. The Bulldogs are the far superior team, and they are playing at their home stadium which should instantly give them a big boost. Final Score Prediction, Fresno State Bulldogs win and cover ATS 38-14.
