The North Carolina Tar Heels and Temple Owls are set to visit Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Maryland as they will meet in the Military Bowl. The North Carolina Tar Heels come into this matchup with a 6-6 record, and they will be looking to continue their success after winning their recent road game against the North Carolina State Wolfpack, 41-10. Freshman QB Sam Howell had a big game through the air for North Carolina as he connected on 23 of his 33 pass attempts for 401 yards, 3 TDs, and 1 interception. Sophomore WR Dyami Brown was the top target for Howell and the Tar Heels as he hauled in 6 catches for 150 yards and a TD.

The North Carolina Tar Heels were good on the defensive side of the ball against the North Carolina State Wolfpack as they held them to 10 points and a total of 289 yards of offense. Junior LB Chazz Surratt led the way for the North Carolina defense with 10 tackles, 2 TFL, and 1 sack. The secondary had a productive outing for the Tar Heels as senior DB Myles Dorn, sophomore DB Trey Morrison, and freshman DB Don Chapman all contributed interceptions.

The Temple Owls come into this matchup with an 8-4 record, and they will be looking to continue their success after winning their recent home game against the UConn Huskies, 49-17. Junior QB Anthony Russo had a productive game through the air for Temple as he connected on 14 of his 23 pass attempts for 247 yards and 2 TDs. Junior WR Branden Mack was the top target for Russo and the Owls as he hauled in 5 catches for 171 yards and 2 TDs.

The Temple Owls were good on the defensive side of the ball against the UConn Huskies as they held them to 17 points and a total of 326 yards of offense. Senior LB Sam Franklin led the way for the Temple defense with 8 tackles, 1 TFL, and 1 interception. The Owls were able to get into the UConn backfield a handful of times as junior DE Quincy Roche, senior DT Karamo Dioubate, and senior DE Zack Mesday combined for 4 TFL and 4 sacks.

The North Carolina Tar Heels have had a resurgence under Mack Brown as they made a bowl game in his 1st season back, and I expect freshman QB Sam Howell to continue playing with confidence. Sam Howell has quietly put together amazing numbers as he has thrown 35 TDs to 7 interceptions, and a huge reason for his success is the WR unit he is surrounded by as 2 WRs have 947 yards. The Temple Owls have struggled on the offensive side of the ball this season as they rank 76th in points scored, and a reason for that is the lack of a ground game. The Tar Heels have forced opposing QBs into 12 interceptions this season, and I think they will come up with a key one against Anthony Russo. UNC has been good on both sides of the ball this season, and they will cap the season off with a win. Final Score Prediction, North Carolina Tar Heels win and cover ATS 28-21.
