The week five College Football schedule will kick off with a Thursday night clash between the North Carolina Tar Heels and Miami Hurricanes. The Tar Heels started the season off in disappointing fashion with consecutive losses, but bounced back with a 38-35 home victory versus Pittsburgh on Saturday. North Carolina trailed by seven points at halftime and reeled off 17 straight points to start the second half. Antonio Williams rushed for 114 yards and two touchdowns.

Through three games, North Carolina ranks 81st in the country in total offense and is scoring 24.7 points on average. Miami is talented on defense, ranking second in the nation in yards allowed and giving up 18.5 points per game. While the Tar Heels already have an ACC Conference victory under their belt, the Miami Hurricanes will be playing in their conference opener on Thursday. Miami started the season with a 33-17 loss versus LSU and have won three straight games against inferior competition. On Saturday, N’Kosi Perry came off the bench to spark the Hurricanes to a 31-17 home victory versus Florida International. The Hurricanes led 31-0 heading into the fourth quarter and limited the Golden Panthers to just 188 total yards.

Miami averages 43.5 points per game, but that number was inflated by 77 points scored against Savannah State. North Carolina enters this game with a defense that ranks 88th in yards allowed and gives up 33.3 points on average.

Miami leads this contested series with a 10-9 record all-time and defeated North Carolina 24-19 in Chapel Hill last season. The Hurricanes failed to finish last weekend’s victory strong, allowing 17 points in the final seven minutes. Grab North Carolina with the points to keep things close on Thursday night. Final Score Prediction, Miami Hurricanes win but fall short ATS 34-23.
