UCONN at UCF 9/28/19 - College Football Picks & Predictions

The UConn Huskies are set to visit Spectrum Stadium in Orlando, Florida for an AAC clash against the UCF Knights. The UConn Huskies come into this matchup with a 1-2 record, and they will be looking to rebound after dropping their recent road game against the Indiana Hoosiers, 38-3. Freshman QB Jack Zergiotis struggled to get much going for the Huskies offense as he connected on 14 of his 28 pass attempts for 90 yards and an interception. RB Kevin Mensah was unable to find much running room against the Hoosiers as he only racked up 34 yards on 10 carries.

The UConn Huskies struggled on the defensive side of the ball against the Indiana Hoosiers as they allowed 38 points and a total of 430 yards of offense. Junior LB Omar Fortt led the way for the UConn Huskies with a team-high 8 tackles while forcing a fumble. Joining Fortt at the LB position is junior Dillon Harris who was able to haul in the lone interception of the game. Lwal Uguak was the lone UConn defender to rack up a sack.

The UCF Knights come into this matchup with a 3-1 record, and they will be looking to rebound after dropping their recent road game against the Pittsburgh Panthers, 35-34. QB Dillon Gabriel had an inconsistent game for the Knights as he connected on 25 of his 42 pass attempts for 338 yards, 2 TDs, and 2 interceptions. WR Gabriel Davis led the way for the Knights as the junior hauled in 10 catches for 151 yards and 2 TDs.

The UCF Knights struggled on the defensive side of the ball against the Pittsburgh Panthers as they allowed 35 points and a total of 439 yards of offense. Junior DB Richie Grant led the way for the UCF Knights with 9 tackles and 2 pass deflections. Junior LB Eric Mitchell had an all-around game from the middle of the defense as he racked up 9 tackles and a pass deflection while also pitching in a forced fumble.

The UCF Knights will come into this game hungry to recover from their last-minute loss against the Pittsburgh Panthers, and they have the perfect opponent to do so as the UConn Huskies are amongst the worst in college football. QB Dillon Gabriel struggled to find a rhythm against the Panthers, but UConn won’t be able to resemble similar pressure as they have had little success in getting to the QB this season. The major mismatch will be the UConn offense against the UCF defense as they Huskies currently rank 125th in the nation in PPG, and it will be hard for them to go on the road and get the chains moving. Final Score Prediction, UCF Knights win and cover ATS 51-3.
