UCF vs BYU 12/22/20 - College Football Picks & Predictions

The UCF Knights play the No. 17 ranked BYU Cougars on Tuesday in the RoofClaim.com Boca Raton at FAU Stadium in Boca Raton, Florida. UCF finished its regular season 6-3 overall and 5-3 in the American Athletic Conference. The Knights ended their regular season with a 58-46 victory over the South Florida Bulls. During the regular season, Central Florida averaged 212.6 yards rushing per game and 373.0 yards passing per game, which was second in the nation. The Knights scored an average of 44.3 points per game and allowed an average of 31.4 points per game.

Quarterback Dillon Gabriel passed for 3,353 yards with 30 touchdowns and four interceptions. Gabriel was sacked 22 times. The leading rusher for Central Florida was Greg McCrae with 681 yards and nine touchdowns, while the leading receiver was Marlon Williams with 1,039 yards and 10 touchdown receptions. On defense, defensive back Richie Grant was the leader in tackles with 72 and defensive lineman Tre’mon Morris-Brash was the leader in quarterback sacks with 3.5.

BYU was 10-1 during the regular season with the only blemish on its record a 22-17 loss to Coastal Carolina. The Cougars ended the regular season with a 28-14 victory over the San Diego State Aztecs. BYU averaged 187.9 yards rushing per game and 322.2 yards passing per game, which was 12th in the nation. BYU scored an average of 43.0 points and allowed an average of just 14.6 points per game. 

Quarterback Zach Wilson passed for 3,267 yards with 30 touchdowns and three interceptions. Wilson was sacked 10 times during the regular season. The leading rusher for BYU was Tyler Allgeier with 957 yards and 12 touchdowns and the leading receiver was Dax Milne with 1,118 yards and eight touchdown receptions. On defense, linebacker Isaiah Kaufusi was the leading tackler for BYU with 75 and defensive lineman Tyler Batty was the leader in quarterback sacks with 4.0.

Both UCF and BYU have excellent passing games and therefore expect a high-scoring back and forth game with the OVER as the play. Dillon Gabriel and Zach Wilson each passed for 30 touchdowns and UCF averaged 44.0 points per game, while BYU averaged 43.0 points per game. The total has finished over in six of you UCF’s last nine.
