Oklahoma State ended up playing against Missouri State in their opening weekend. In the game the Cowboys were able to get the win in the game, but it was a lot closer than what was expected. The win came with a final score of 23-16 and definitely closer for the Cowboys than what they expected.
Shane Illingworth was the quarterback of the day for Oklahoma State. Illingworth went 22/40 for 315 yards and a touchdown, but also a pick. The rushing offense for Oklahoma State ended up carrying the ball 28 times for only 54 yards, but 2 touchdowns. The defense allowed only 234 yards and a touchdown in the air. The rushing defense, though, gave up 102 yards on 37 carries.
