Troy vs Memphis Picks and Prediction – 9/7/2024

The Troy Trojans will go on the road for the first time in 2024 with a Week 2 matchup in Memphis against the Memphis Tigers. The Memphis Tigers are undefeated coming into Week 2 riding a three-game win streak dating back to last season following a 40 point blowout of North Alabama in week 1 of 2024. Defensively Memphis dominated the game giving up less than 200 yards and no points after forcing 3 turnovers. Offensively the Tigers rolled scoring 40 points including 31 in the first half on 367 total yards.

Seth Henigan carried the load for the Memphis offense completing 22 passes for 308 yards and two scores. Mario Anderson led the team with 46 yards and two touchdowns on 10 carries in the game. Roc Taylor proved to be the primary target of the Memphis offense with 87 yards on five catches. Brendan Doyle added 33 yards and one score on two grabs and Anthony Landphere chipped in 29 yards and one score on two catches as well.

The Memphis Tigers are a much better team in this matchup and will continue to roll in week two. Look for Memphis to dominate this game on both sides of the ball as they overwhelm a lackluster Troy team. Take the Tigers to do enough as they get the win and cover at home.
