Toledo at Kentucky 8/31/19 - College Football Picks & Predictions

The Kentucky Wildcats open up their season as double digit favorites with the Toledo Rockets in town. The Wildcats finished last season with a 10-3 record and ranked #15 in the nation. Kentucky beat Penn State in the Citrus Bowl 27-24. The Wildcats won their season opener last season followed by another four straight wins.

The Wildcats head into their 2019 campaign after losing 14 starers from a year ago. Mark Stoops comes back as they Wildcats head coach. Stoops won his first bowl game last season and looks to get back to another this season. Stoops enters his 7th season as the head coach of the Wildcats and carries a 36-39 record. The Toledo Rockets look to improve on a 7-6 record last season. The Rockets return 7 players on the offensive side of the ball and 5 on the defensive unit. Toledo won the MAC last season but lost in the Bahamas Bowl to Florida International.

Jason Candle remains the head coach of the Rockets and enters his fourth season. Candle has turned Toledo into a top contender in the MAC every season. Candle carries a 28-13 record with the Rockets.

The Rockets lose a few key pieces but do bring back QB Mitchell Guadagni and RB Bryant Koback. Koback scored 14 touchdowns last season and rushed for just under 1000 yards as a freshman. Kentucky gets the home field advantage but expect the Rockets to keep this one interesting. Final Score Prediction, Kentucky Wildcats win but fall short ATS 35-31.
