The No. 17 ranked Texas Longhorns visit Bill Snyder Family Stadium in Manhattan, Kansas on Saturday for a Big 12 battle with the Kansas State Wildcats. Texas dropped to 5-3 overall and 4-3 in the Big 12 following its 23-20 loss on Friday to the Iowa State Cyclones. Texas held the lead 20-13 entering the fourth quarter but gave up a field goal early in the fourth quarter and the winning touchdown with less than two minutes to play.

Quarterback Sam Ehlinger has passed for 2,132 yards with 23 touchdowns, five interceptions and has been sacked 19 times. Ehlinger is the leading rusher for Texas with 388 yards and eight touchdowns and the leading receiver is Brennan Eagles with 428 yards and five touchdown receptions. On defense, linebacker Juwan Mitchell is the leader in tackles with 56 and linebacker Joseph Ossai is the leader in quarterback sacks with 4.5.

Kansas State dropped to 4-5 following its 32-31 loss to the Baylor Bears on Saturday. Kansas State took a nine-point lead with less than nine minutes to play but Baylor scored 10 points over the final 4:16 including a winning field goal as time ran out to beat the Wildcats. Kansas State gained 344 yards of total offense but committed two turnovers and allowed Baylor 420 yards of total offense.

Quarterback Will Howard has passed for 1,004 yards with six touchdowns, eight interceptions and has been sacked six times. The leading rusher for Kansas State is Deuce Vaughn with 517 yards and five touchdowns and Vaughn is also the leading receiver for the Wildcats with 379 yards and two touchdowns. On defense, defensive back Jahron McPherson is the leading tackler with 46 and defensive end Wyatt Hubert is the leader in quarterback sacks with 5.5. 

Texas is battling for prestigious bowl game selection. The Longhorns passing game behind the arm Sam Ehlinger is averaging 274 yards per game and Kansas State is giving up an average of 256.5 yards per game which the Longhorns will take advantage of by moving up and down the field easily.
