Tennessee vs NC State Picks and Prediction – 9/7/2024

In a big Week 2 college football showdown, the Tennessee Volunteers travel to Charlotte to take on the NC State Wolfpack. Both teams are coming off impressive Week 1 victories and are eager to continue their winning momentum. Get in on all the action with our free NCAAF picks.

The Tennessee Volunteers (1-0) entered the 2024 season with high expectations following a strong finish last year. In their Week 1 opener, the Vols showcased their potent offense, putting up 69 points in a win. Quarterback Nico Iamaleav threw for 314 yards and 3 TD's. Iamaleav's connection with his talented receiving corps, including Bru McCoy and Dont'e Thornton Jr. will be crucial as Tennessee looks to exploit NC State’s secondary. On defense, the Volunteers will lean on their experienced front seven to apply pressure and disrupt the Wolfpack’s offensive rhythm.

NC State (1-0) also started the season on a high note with a convincing victory in Week 1. The Wolfpack’s defense, traditionally known for its physicality and discipline, will face a stiff challenge against Tennessee’s up-tempo offense. NC State’s defensive line, anchored by Davin Vann (3 tackles), will be tasked with limiting the Vols’ explosive plays. Offensively, the Wolfpack will rely on quarterback Grayson McCall to guide the offense and make key plays. The Volunteers looked completely locked in and the offense was humming in Week 1. NC State has a troubling performance and struggled to put away Western Carolina. The Volunteers should be able to pour on a ton of points and cover this spread. Prediction: Vols win 31-14.
