Tennessee vs Georgia Picks and Prediction – 11/17/2024

SEC Conference powers will square off on Saturday night, when the Tennessee Volunteers visit Sanford Stadium to tackle the Georgia Bulldogs. On Saturday, Tennessee forced two turnovers during a 33-14 home victory versus lowly Mississippi State. 

Tennessee RB Dylan Sampson rushed for a career-high 149 yards and a game-clinching 33-yard touchdown run. QB Nico Iamaleava connected with Dont’e Thornton Jr. for a 73-yard touchdown before exiting in the second half with an injury. Squirrel White added a 34-yard touchdown reception for the Volunteers. 

The Georgia Bulldogs have suffered two conference losses and another loss in their final three games would likely eliminate them from College Football Playoff contention. The Bulldogs (7-2) rank third in the SEC Conference in total defense and are limiting opponents to 17.3 points per contest. On Saturday, Georgia’s offense sputtered once again during a 28-10 road loss against 16th ranked Ole Miss. 

Nate Frazier gave Georgia an early 7-0 lead with a two-yard touchdown run and finished with a team-high 47 rushing yards. Carson Beck threw for 181 yards, but his 12th interception in the last six games was extremely costly. Dominic Lovett caught four balls for 41 yards in a losing effort for the Bulldogs. 

Tennessee QB Nico Iamaleava (undisclosed) was pulled as a precautionary measure last week and is expected to play in this game. Georgia has dominated the previous seven meetings against Tennessee, winning each by at least 14 points. The Bulldogs need to win to keep their playoff hopes alive and will cover at home.
