TCU at Iowa State 11/26/21 - College Football Picks & Predictions

The TCU Horned Frogs visit Jack Trice Stadium in Ames, Iowa on Friday to play the Iowa State Cyclones. TCU improved to 5-6 overall and 3-5 in the Big 12 following a 31-28 victory over the Kansas Jayhawks on Saturday night. TCU gained 492 yards of total offense but committed two turnovers and held Kansas to 379 yards of total offense. TCU quarterback Max Duggan passed for 166 yards with one interception and running back Kendre Miller rushed for 112 yards and one touchdown.

Max Duggan has passed for 1,666 yards with 14 touchdowns and four interceptions. The TCU signal-caller has been sacked 12 times. The leading rusher is Zach Evans with 648 yards and five touchdowns, while the leading receiver is Quentin Johnston with 612 yards and six touchdown receptions. On defense, linebacker Dee Winters is the leading tackler with 66 and defensive end Ochaun Mathis is the leader in quarterback sacks with 4.0.

Iowa State dropped to 6-5 overall and 4-4 in the Big 12 following a 28-21 loss to the Oklahoma Sooners. Iowa State gained 361 yards of total offense but committed three costly turnovers, while allowing Oklahoma State to gain 305 yards of total offense. Iowa State running back Breece Hall rushed for 58 yards and one touchdown while quarterback Brock Purdy passed for 281 yards with one touchdown and one interception.

Brock Purdy has passed for 2,441 yards with 15 touchdowns and six interceptions. The Cyclones’ signal-caller has been sacked 12 times. Reese Hall is the leading rusher for Iowa state with 1,172 yards and 16 touchdowns, while the leading receiver is Xavier Hutchinson with 798 yards and five touchdowns receptions. On defense, linebacker Jake Hummel is the leading tackler with 67 and defensive end Eyioma Uwazurike is the leader in quarterback sacks with 7.5.

Iowa State is coming off a disappointing loss to Oklahoma but the Cyclones are bowl eligible and will want to close out their season with a victory in order to receive a better selection from the bowl committees. TCU can still qualify for a bowl game with a victory on Saturday and will be pushing to win at all costs, which could cost the Horned Frogs to make additional mistakes.
