Stanford at CAL 11/17/18 - College Football Picks & Predictions

Cal just ended a long losing streak to USC, and sets its sights on another losing streak this weekend when it hosts Stanford for "The Big Game." This is the oldest rivalry on the west coast and Stanford leads the all-time series 63-46-11. Stanford has won the last eight games. Both teams are 6-4 and bowl eligible. Stanford is 4-3 in the Pac 12 and Cal is 3-4.

The Golden Bears have won three of its last four, and that includes a win over Washington. Six of Cal's 10 games have been decided by a touchdown or less. Stanford won its last game, but lost four of the previous five.

Stanford is led by KJ Costello who has passed for 2854 yards, 23 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Bryce Love has rushed for 580 yards and five touchdowns. Stanford has 12 rushing touchdowns and is averaging 3.8 yards per run. JJ Arcega-Whiteside has 754 yards receiving and 11 touchdowns. Kaden Smith has 635 yards receiving and two scores. Trenton Irwin has 572 yards receiving. Chase Garbers has passed for 1100 yards, 11 touchdowns and five interceptions. The Bears have 13 touchdown passes and 13 interceptions as a team. Patrick Laird leads the running game with 771 yards and five touchdowns. Vic Wharton III has 428 yards receiving on one touchdown.

Stanford is averaging 28.3 points and giving up 23. Cal is averaging 22.7 and giving up 21.1. Cal has been outscored 153-137 in Pac 12 games, while Stanford has outscored Pac 12 opponents 205-172.

Two teams that want to run the ball and win with physical defenses square off on important PAC 12 game. Like this to be very low scoring with a late field goal separating these two good defenses. Final Score Prediction, California Golden Bears win in upset but like the under total the best 17-16.
