Stanford at Arizona State 10/8/21 - College Football Picks & Predictions

A key Pac-12 Conference showdown will take place on Friday night, when the Stanford Cardinal visit the Arizona State Sun Devils. The Cardinal (3-2) have won two of their first three conference games and are averaging 29.0 points per contest. On Saturday, Stanford scored a touchdown on the final play of regulation and stunned Oregon in overtime by a 31-24 final score.

Stanford QB Tanner McKee completed 20 of 36 passes for 230 yards and three touchdowns. John Humphreys caught a 14-yard pass for a score to give the Cardinal the huge upset victory.

The Arizona State Sun Devils have won four of their first five games and sit atop the Pac-12 North Division standings. On Saturday, Arizona State pitched a shutout in the second half during a 42-23 road triumph against UCLA. The 22nd-ranked Sun Devils outgained the Bruins by a 463-435 margin and won despite possessing the ball for slightly more than 25 minutes.

WR Ricky Pearsall caught second-quarter touchdown passes of 65 and 54 yards to give Arizona State a one-point halftime lead. Rachaad White contributed 69 yards rushing and found the end zone twice for the Sun Devils.

These two programs have not met since 2018 and Arizona State holds a narrow 17-15 all-time series lead. The Cardinal will be feeling good after their huge upset victory, but doing it on the road is another story. Take the Sun Devils to win and cover at home. Final Score Prediction, Arizona State Sun Devils win 35-17.
